Overview

Learn Igbo ("we", "our", "us") builds a language-learning app for Igbo. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Learn Igbo, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect information in a few ways:

  • Account information — name, email address, and password (or sign-in details from a third-party provider) when you create an account.
  • Learning activity — lessons completed, tone-drill scores, streaks, and progress through the curriculum, so we can personalize your path.
  • Device & usage data — device type, operating system, app version, and general usage patterns, collected automatically to keep the app running smoothly.
  • Audio input — if you use pronunciation-practice features, short voice recordings may be captured to give you feedback. These are processed for that purpose and are not sold to third parties.
  • Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the lessons, tone drills, and audio content.
  • Personalize your learning path and track your progress across the four Izu Igbo market days.
  • Send you lesson reminders, streak notifications, and product updates, where you've allowed us to.
  • Diagnose technical issues and keep the app secure.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers who help us run the app — such as hosting, analytics, and payment processing — under agreements that require them to protect your data. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app's features. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Your choices

  • You can review and update your account information at any time from within the app.
  • You can turn off lesson reminders and other notifications in your device or app settings.
  • You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us below.

Children's privacy

Learn Igbo is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
